Nifontovite Specimen | Rey y Reina Mine, Charcas, Mexico
Number 002
This specimen is Nifontovite, a rare calcium borate mineral collected from the Rey y Reina Mine in Charcas, Mexico. Nifontovite is known for forming sharp prismatic to bladed crystals, often exhibiting complex growth habits and a delicate, highly aesthetic structure. Well preserved examples are increasingly difficult to source due to the mineral’s natural brittleness.
Material from the Rey y Reina Mine is particularly regarded for strong crystal definition, clean terminations, and visually striking form. Because Nifontovite is fragile by nature, specimens that retain good integrity and display presence are uncommon, especially in collector grade condition.
This piece measures 1.2 inches.
All specimens are natural and unaltered, with no repairs, coatings, or stabilization unless explicitly stated. Minor edge wear, internal features, or growth irregularities are natural and expected with authentic material of this type.
This listing is for the exact specimen shown.
